What is RKBAblog.com?

Text of Second AmendmentThis blog was created late in the evening on January 15, 2013. As I type this first post, our country is about to experience major changes in the coming days.

Today’s top news was that President Obama is poised to sign nineteen “Executive Orders” dealing with “gun control.” Most of our fellow citizens don’t understand the implications or effects of that action. We hear the news reports about “gun control” and “dangerous military-style assault weapons,” but very few of us understand what those terms actually mean. We hear the term “Executive Order” and wonder if that’s the same thing as a law. That’s exactly why I created this blog. My main goal is to educate my fellow citizens by: defining these terms in plain English, giving you the facts that the mainstream media doesn’t, and explaining the real agendas of the “gun control” proponents.

So, what does RKBA mean? It is a commonly used abbreviation for the “right to keep and bear arms.” Sound familiar but can’t remember where you’ve heard those words? Well, this is a REALLY important issue, so let’s quickly review some U.S. history.

We often hear the media or politicians referring to the “1st Amendment” or “2nd Amendment.” Those references are to first ten amendments to the United States Constitution. The first ten amendments are commonly referred to as the “Bill of Rights.” The most commonly discussed amendments are the 1st Amendment and 2nd Amendment. The 1st Amendment deals with “freedom of speech” and “freedom of religion.” I’m going to discuss the 1st Amendment from time-to-time, but this blog will mostly focus on the 2nd Amendment.

The 2nd Amendment deals with the right to “keep and bear arms”. . . in other words, to own guns. Here’s exactly what it says:

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

While the 2nd Amendment does not have many words, it has been the source of much controversy, especially in the aftermath of the tragic elementary school shooting in Newton, CT last month. Does it only apply to militias and what exactly is a militia? Does it only apply to hunting? What types of guns does it cover? These are very important questions; please don’t rely on the mainstream media to answer them for you. I assure you that you will only get half the story – the half that the biased media wants you to get. In the coming days and weeks, I hope to answer all of these questions, and many more.

I really enjoy reading this site. The Demoncrats are going to do everything in their power to confiscate guns. We need people like you to keep spreading the truth. Keep up the great work and I will keep reading.
