The End Run Ammo Ban

Ammo BanSince the feds can’t ban guns, they want to do the next best thing [in their minds] – ban ammo instead.

Anyone who follows the news knows that the Democrats salivate over the thought of banning guns, especially scary-looking black ones. For a while, President Bill Clinton’s assault weapons ban managed to ban several semi-automatic guns based on cosmetic features. That ban expired September 13, 2004, and has not been renewed. [Note: Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is in favor of renewing the ban . . . and probably expanding on it.] Since the ban expired, the Democrats have not been able to ban assault weapons but their desire never went away.

Faced with continuing frustration of not being able to ban scary-looking rifles, President Obama and BATF are planning a backdoor, end-run around Congress. Their plan is to use a BATF executive branch regulations to ban most of the reasonably priced ammo used by these rifles with the hope that they will reduce demand for the rifles by making ammo very expensive and difficult to find. The Huffington Post published an excellent editorial explaining the issue and the gun industry’s response and Townhall.com published the House Judiciary Chairman’s response. Take a few minutes to read both and then let your voice be heard.

About Bud

Yeehaw and Git-R-Done!! I'm just a simple good ole boy who "clings to his God and his guns." In other words, another dumb redneck gun owner you should ignore. That's what the gun confiscation crowd wants you to think, and it's how they falsely portray the majority of gun owners. Read some of the posts on this blog and draw your own conclusions. Then you might want to start questioning everything the government and media tell you about gun issues . . .
