Feinstein’s “Assault Weapons” Ban Dropped from Gun Bill

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D)It’s old news at this point, but I’ve been really busy the past two days.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid turned down Senator Diane Feinstein’s attempt to bring her ban on 157 different “assault weapons” and “high-capacity” magazines aboard the Demoncrat party’s  comprehensive gun bill.  Feinstein’s bill would require 60 votes to be considered on the Senate floor.  Various internet reports suggest she was only able to get 35-40 votes, so Sen. Reid dropped Feinstein’s controversial provisions in the hope of getting a less controversial bill approved in the Senate.

Don’t get too excited; Sen. Feinstein is not giving up that easily.  She still intends to introduce her bills separately or as amendments to the Democrats’ main bill in April.  Her chances of success do not look good right now, but another mass shooting before then could change that.

The Washington Times quoted Mrs. Feinstein, “I tried to make the case for it, and he indicated we would have a separate vote.  Obviously I’m disappointed.  The enemies on this are very powerful. I’ve known that all my life.” The sad reality is that the “enemies” she is referring to are law abiding citizens demanding our Second Amendment rights not be infringed.

For now, this is a win for freedom loving U.S. citizens.

Yeehaw and Git-R-Done!! I'm just a simple good ole boy who "clings to his God and his guns." In other words, another dumb redneck gun owner you should ignore. That's what the gun confiscation crowd wants you to think, and it's how they falsely portray the majority of gun owners. Read some of the posts on this blog and draw your own conclusions. Then you might want to start questioning everything the government and media tell you about gun issues . . .
